Boogie Wipes to the rescue and GIVE AWAY!

This last weekend I went on a vacation without the kids. My Husband took me down to Seattle for the weekend for a late birthday gift. When I was packing our over night bag I made sure to toss in a package of boogie wipes. Even without the kids I thought it would be nice to toss in and I would find some use for it out there.

We got to the outlet store and started shopping. We picked up a quick bite to eat and got some sauce on my hands. I couldn't get it all off with the tissue that they gave us. So I pulled out the boogie wipes and gave my hands a good wipe and they were nice and clean. We then went on our way shopping.

Later that day we ended up stopping at the crab pot. OMG I have heard so many good things about it. It was even on Man VS Food. I looked at there website before we left and I was hungry just looking at it. We ended up there and had a almost hour long wait to get in. But the food was worth it. For some reason only my husband got the wipe for his hands, or maybe he took mine. So once again i pulled out a boogie wipe. I also wiped my face with it to make sure I wasn't sticky there for when my husband would lean in and give me a kiss!

We ended up going to our hotel room, and got in to a really nice suite. They upgraded us to a room with a Japanese soaking tub. It was fantastic. We had so much fun and slept fantastic on the king size bed. Though for some reason I ended up at the edge like at home. Looked like the husband was hogging the bet yet again!

Well that night I didn't take off my makeup and when I woke up I looked like a mess! So boogie wipes to the rescue again! I took out a wipe and gave my face a nice wash. I break out so bad when I use different soaps on my face. I cant even use some cleansers on my face. So after I was done with my boogie wipes my face was clean and fresh. After breakfast we went back to the hotel to get ready for the day and I was able to use boogie wipes again. This time for my nose!

We spent the rest of the day around town, we were running around and looking at all sorts of things. I was starting to feel kinds sweaty so I used a boogie wipe to freshen up. Wiping down the back of my neck and chest. It was great and I felt refreshed.

I love how I can use boogie wipes for things other then noses and boogies. They are fantastic for messy faces and hands, getting rid of sticky food that your kids have eaten, washing your face, a quick refresh, and they are lightly scented and wont dry you out like wipes for bums! Plus when I get a cold I personally like to use them myself.

Now here is where it gets fun!

We are doing our first ever GIVE AWAY!!!!!

we are going to give away 10 packages of boogie wipes! These are the travel ones that have one single boogie wipe and are fantastic for on the go. To slip in to a purse or pocket. To leave one or two in the glove box of the car.

This give away is running till 12 noon PST on March 25. It is open to people in Canada AND the USA!

Now you can earn your name in the draw for it in a few different ways!

#PrayForJapan

Last night before i went to bed, like i do every night. I checked my twitter. I saw a few tweets and responded. Then i saw something about Japan. Then i saw the #Japan tag. Then i saw #PrayForJapan. so i started to view them. Then #Japan became a trending topic. I found out that there was a massive earth quake in Japan last night. I couldn't go to sleep with everything i was seeing. The pictures of the devastation was horrible.
I was very worried for people who had friends and family out that way.

Then i saw the tsunami coming through Japan. Then the whirl pools. It was quite sad to watch. I even woke my husband up to watch video of it on my iPhone.

I also found out that since we are on the west coast there is a chance of a tsunami out our way, That was a shocker. It also worried me as my husband works at an airport that is right on the water. The only thing between him and the pacific ocean is a dyke. I found out that it wouldn't hit us as we were protected by the Vancouver Island. But then what about the people on Vancouver Island? How would they fair? The watch for it was even going up the coast of Canada where I have an aunt and uncle.

Finally around 1am ish i went to bed. Not before declaring that March 11 have no #FF but be #PrayForJapan instead. It was RT by a few of my friends list.

Today I have prayed for Japan a few times. I'm thinking about them, and hugging my kids and family tighter as i pray.

There are a few things you can do for the people of Japan. You can donate to your local Red Cross. Even those extra pennies in your wallet, or your change jar, or even instead of getting your morning Starbucks (don't tell me that you don't get one!) or timmies you could donate to the Red cross. Right now they can help better then any other agency can.

this is where you can do a one time or monthly donation to the red cross in Canada.
and
this is the link for the American Red cross and you can even choose where you funds go.

If you want to donate to Red Cross quake relief, you can do so through your cell phone. Text redcross to 90999 to make a $10 donation. It will be on your next cell bill, for USA only.

if you are on twitter please think about posting a twibbon for Japan.

Please hug your family and call your parents and siblings tonight. Let them know that you love them. Because you never know when something like this is going to happen your part of town.

Update from London Drugs

I recieved a call from Babi again. She wants this resolved and is offering a gift card plus the diapers price matched.
Im still not happy but im accepting it.
I want my local and non local mother friends to be able to price match diapers without hassle and to not get name called by managmenet.

What I would love to see is this offer of getting the diapers price matched for all my mother friends who have tried to go and got this denyed at the Langley London Drugs.
Im not sure we will get this, as I know that London Drugs is quite sick of me for now. But i am going to hold them now and later on to there price match guarentee on there website. You dont advertise something and then get away with not doing it.

London Drugs Not Price Matching for Mothers.

Huggies Diapers from London drugs, Shoppers, and Zellers. They look all the same. They are all a Mega Pack.
I saw a great deal in the Zellers flyer last week. It was Huggies Mega Packs for $8.99. I was not able to make it out at the beginning of the flyer and knew they would fly off the shelves. So when I finally was able to (the last day of the flyer) I wet to London drugs to buy some and get them to price match it.

Everything about my trip was fine till I went to the cash and they called down a manager to price match. I was told that it was not the same diapers as in the flyer and was proceeded to be called stupid when i told him that a mega pack is a mega pack is a mega pack. And the ones that I was showing him were the same as in the picture but the next size up (picture showed a 4 i was wanting to buy a 5) i was told that i was stupid and that's not the case and to either take it or leave it.

I walked out of the store without the diapers. I went to shoppers where i had a Gift card and bought the mega pack of snug and dry. On the way home in the car with my kids i cried as i was tweeting the london drugs twitter account. My husband was upset that we went out of our way to get a good deal and they wouldn't do it.

Surprisingly i got a tweet back that night and was in contact with the london drugs twitter rep around 9pm. I was told that they would contact me in the morning and i would have someone call me.
I was contacted the next morning and spoke with Babi. She said she would have to check to see if they had the same UPC code. I got a call back shortly after that she talked to zellers and that there UPC code and the one they use are different. I was shocked and upset and there was no word if i would get an apology or not.

Later on I contacted Huggies using the 188 phone number on the back of a package. I spoke with a nice lady on the phone who told me that a Mega pack is the same as long as you are talking about snug and dry. If you talk about little movers there mega packs are the same but different upc codes if you compare mega pack of snug and dry to little snugglers. I completely understand that as its like trying to say that Apple's and oranges are both the exact same type of fruit and make the same juice.... She then put me through to a supervisor who told me the same thing. Then the supervisor got another supervisor on the phone who told me no matter what store you go to in Canada and the USA as long as you have the same size package, and the same brand they will be the same.

After being in contact with the twitter rep again from london drugs and getting quite upset they said they they wanted to resolve this. for resolving this i wanted an apology and to get my diapers price matched. I was given nothing but we will have a rep contact you. I told them sure to have a rep contact me on Friday. I had no rep or anyone from london drugs talk to me on Friday afternoon or evening.

This morning i tweeted again that i was upset that i hadn't bee contacted and that i would like this resolved with an apology and my diapers price matched. After speekign with a few mom friends, i had 1 in aldergrove, 2 in Langley, and 1 who im not sure where tell me that this london drugs in Langley does not price match diapers no matter how many flyers they have come in with and that this one is the on that they have had the most issues with.

Babi (not sure if i spelled it right) from the london drugs head office called me. they said they will not be able to price match as they are different UPC codes then the ones that they have. Even after speaking with her and telling her that i went to zellers, london drugs, and to shoppers and they all have the same UPC code. She did not believe me. She said she called and got a different UPC code from a person she spoke to at Zellers.

Now can you tell what one of these diapers is from zellers? What about Shoppers? Or London Drugs?

I received a phone call from Steve Freeman - Langley. as of 9am February 28th he told me on the phone that they are not the same diapers, that they have contacted zellers and they are not the same diapers. that they will contact there Huggies rep and find out. But as of 9am they are still adamant that it is not the same diapers. He says he never said what i am accusing him of saying. And that they are not the same diapers that they carry. He also told me that he want to end this right here and now and if 2 packages of diapers will fix it then he will give me 2 packs at $8.99 each and then went on about how they have diapers at 2 for some price that is way more then that. I had to let him go as my youngest was waking up from a nap and needed me.

He still admits that he said nothing wrong, and that there diapers are different.

I'm just upset about the way London Drugs has treated this. Finding out that other moms are having issues getting diapers and other items price matched when they are the same thing. This is NOT FAIR.

Babi who i spoke with on the phone also told me that they have to call to confirm that the item is the same at another store. But it doesn't say that in there price match guarantee on there website. http://www.londondrugs.com/Cultures/en-US/Content/CorporateInfo/OurGuarantee/

on there website they say
We offer what you need at a price that’s right. If you find the same merchandise advertised in print at a lower price, we’ll match that price. Even if you find that lower advertised price after you buy, we’ll step up and match that price for 30 days.* This does not apply to online pricing and this guarantee can not be extended to items purchased through our online store. Please see our STORE LOCATOR for a location nearest you.

*Excluding Prescriptions, 1-Hour Photofinishing and internet pricing.

I understand the excluding prescriptions and photo finishing and Internet pricing. But So far they ant stepping up and price matching at all. It Looks like the Langley Store is trying to get out of price matching for people.

Now i just got off the phone with a lovely lady from Zellers in coquitlam with a thick accent that gave me the barode number 036000523676 and that matches with all the diapers that I have. Im wondering who these people from London drugs have spoken to to find out that they somehow get "special" diapers that are different then other stores.

All in all im pretty upset them myself and 4 other moms that i PERSONA LY know have been denied price matching.

I would love to know how many other moms are having issues with diapers being price matched!

Build A Bear!

Build a bear is a great place to take kids to get there first teddy bear or other animal. I went there with my twins when they were little. They got there first teddy bear (well in there case bunny and monkey) when they were about 8 months or so. They didn't get the full experience of it. But they love there first animal. We went again on there second birthday and they got another stuffed animal. This time a Chick and a Frog. They love those just as much as the first!

I love how they have the full experience. How they also have stuffed animals and the ones that are un stuffed. Though at age 2 the girls wanted the pre stuffed ones and didn't quite understand how the flat, not cushy ones would then become cushy. They were a little leery of the stuffing machine and hid behind daddy during that. But they loved to choose the heart for there new friend. They also loved squishing the animal and asking for more stuffing. The girls however were scared of the giant bath tub that shot air out of the shower heads to fluff up the bear so we skipped that part.

I loved how each animal comes with a bar code that goes in side so you can regestar it with them so if its lost and someone brings it in to build a bear they will send it back to you free of charge! I think this is great because if your child looses there favorite toy, its hard both on the child and you!

I was quite surprised at how reasonable the prices were for the clothes for the bears. We bought the girls this last winter both jackets for there animals that are 2010 Olympic and actual VANOC certified merchandise. I was very surprised at how reasonable they were. I believe i paid about $15 each for them. At the time jackets, shirts, and other items for kids were $35+.

The girls first stuffed animals have gotten a lot of wear, and every time we walk in the store to just even look when the girls have there animals the staff at the store are welcoming, and ask the girls if they want new bows for there animals. Its great! they are so friendly with the kids, and even us adults! Asking the pattens if its ok before offering to the kids. Giving the girls sticker sheets when we leave, and then offering one for the twin sister if she isn't there with us!

I have to say our trips in to build a bear have been nothing but a fantastic experience!

I have to say that build a bear is a great place to take your child for there birthday, or just for a fun treat! The only down side is that if you put them in the washer and dryer they can split open and then need to go in to get re stuffed and sewn up. BUT build a bear will do that for free and put in a new tag inside so that if lost your stuffed animal can make it home!
